Sheet Metal Work
Our CNC – Computer Numerical Control – punching machinery allows us to quickly, yet accurately, produce many punched parts. These may be produced in a variety of sheet materials. These range from mild steel and stainless steel through to brass and plastics.
The Rainer Lux 12 / 20 will punch and form to an accuracy of ±0.04mm. It can operate at speeds of up to 7 punches per second.
Along with our other sheet metal work machinery, our CNC punching machine enables us to maintain our reputable high standards. At the same time, it maintains our competitive edge in this industry.
Our CNC machinery is extremely accurate. This enables our sheet metal work department to swiftly turn your designs into precise, beautifully finished products or components.
Our skilled programmers and production staff are happy to accept design specifications in all forms. These can be from ready produced .dxf files to sketches and notes written on a piece of paper. Using our specialist CAD (computer application design) application package, we generate the programme required to run our CNC punching machine. The punching machine will then output your requirements, as specified.
Working alongside our punching machine, we operate CNC press brakes. These bend and form the flat punched blanks (output from the CNC machine). Output from the press brakes can be made into brackets and cases.
Tube and Bar Bending
Besides working with sheet steel, we are also able to form steel tubes and bars using our tube bender. These can form creaseless handrails and frames as used in our golf carts.
Welding and Finishing
Most of our products are welded together to finish them.
We have a MIG welding plant (metal inert gas) capable of welding mild and stainless steel. We also have grinders and polishers to clean up the finished surface.
Powder coatings are then applied to these products in the paint shop.
Powder Coating of
Sheet Metal Work
Our paint shop is fully equipped for surface preparation and the application of powder coatings. The coatings are always applied to a very high standard. Staffed with skilled operatives, the shop can apply decorative and protective coatings to most surfaces.
The equipment we use includes:
- a vapour phase de-greasing plant to deter surface corrosion;
- pneumatic surface preparation equipment;
- electrostatic balanced air / water curtain spray booths to apply powder paint; and
- electronically controlled stoving ovens.
Other surface finishing equipment include a sand blasting chamber, and buffing and polishing equipment. We also have grinding and de-burring equipment.
Colours and textured finishes can be supplied to your exact RAL & BSI requirements. We can supply any colour in quantities from one to thousands. (These will be subject to minimum order quantities.)
